This year, we are mentoring a youth Project Leader, Ms. Shuri Chibana with her Community Closet Clothing Swap, a free event for anyone to bring used clothing and/or take used clothing at the swap event. The event highlights how everyday choices such as re-wearing and sharing, reduces textile waste and strengthens community care. Remaining clothing items will be donated to the Palau Red Cross Society. Through this simple yet impactful initiative, this clothing swap demonstrates that sustainability is not only about large-scale solutions, but about collective community action rooted in sharing and responsibility.
Sustainability is not expensive technology, it is community behavior.
For volunteers, we are looking for a total of 15-20 student volunteers and will provide lunch. All volunteers will receive a volunteer certificate from Rengelekel Belau to honor their time supporting this event. Sign up HERE.
